Local events

Sunday 11 August - 09:45-14:00

Hesley Woods Activity Centre

Meet at the woods at 0945, the activities start at 10am and you may not be able to find us easily on the site, so please try to be on time.

Please bring:

1. A packed lunch and drinks for all your party. There isn't anywhere on site to buy food, there is a small shop that sells ice-cream, sweets etc. but we don't know if this will be open.

2. Suitable clothing for the events.  e.g. waterproof if it is raining and suitable footwear - we don't advise sandals or flip flops.

This is an outdoor event with activities in and around the woods, so comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting dirty is a must!

The plan for the day is as follows:

10am to 11am - Archery/Shooting (we'll try to rotate so everyone gets a go at both, but shooting has some restrictions for smaller children)

11am to Noon - Cresta Run/Go Karts (again, we'll try to get everyone on both)

Noon to 1300 - Bouncy Castle & Lunch Break

1300 to 1400 - Obstacle Course

The address is: Hesley Woods, White Lane, Chapeltown, Sheffield S35 2YH.

There is a long dirt track drive that leads up to a car park at the top of the driveway, please park in the car park and not along the driveway.

Please email if you have any specific questions.

We meet on the first weekend of every month, we aim to have a variety of activites and venues to suit all.

If you have any suggestions for future meets then please let us know.

About Us

Doncaster Deaf Children's Society (DDCS) was established in November 2014 by a group of parents with deaf children with the aim of bringing together families affected by a child with hearing loss.

We intend to represent the views of parents, offer social events and provide support to newly diagnosed familes.
